Welcome to my bakery
I've always had a deep passion for cooking, but it was when I started decorating cakes—initially for birthdays of my kids and friends—that I discovered a whole new level of joy. My journey began at Cornerstone Bakery in Hickory in 2017, where I honed my decorating skills under the guidance of James Berbec and my incredibly talented coworker Brittany.
When Cornerstone closed due to the pandemic and was sold to new owners, I helped them get Corner Bakery up and running, continuing to refine my craft. I then sought new opportunities at Sweet Thing Bakery in Statesville, but the position was short-lived.
Fate led me to The Chocolate Possum in Conover, where I worked with Amanda until she decided to move and close the Newton location. To my delight, she offered me the chance to take over, and that’s when my dream truly came to life.
In January 2023, I proudly opened Carpe Crustum Bakery. Every day, I find immense joy in crafting cakes and pastries that delight our customers, alongside my incredible team.

"If you need a cake def pick this place out of everywhere else in Catawba county or Burke county area. I came for a baby shower cake and she made it exactly how I wanted. I go to a lot of weddings/ functions and it’s always funny to me how no one eats the cake . My cake was gone. Everyone said how beautiful it was as well as how moist and fresh it tasted!
Customer service is great. Staff is friendly. Owner is self taught and worked around other bakeries in the area for years. She finally opened up her own place and I am so glad she did! Other places I went to told me they couldn’t do something because they didn’t have the proper tools or they would always say will it won’t look exactly like the picture . Well she will go out and get it and create whatever you want and make it look like exactly how you want it . Also while discussing the cake and flavors she actually went to the back and made me Oreo cake to try since it wasn’t out on the floor; so I knew actually what all flavors tasted. We had a three layer coconut, red velvet, and Oreo . Great flavors ! Give this place a try ! I am def a foodie and a perfectionist can’t say anymore good things about how happy I was with my experience and my cake!"

"Absolutely AMAZING! Carpe Crustum is hands-down the best bakery in the Charlotte area. They have made several cakes for our family, and the latest cake was for our 20th vow renewal (the pictures speak louder than words). I cannot recommend them enough. If you are anywhere near the area, stop by!
The strawberry tiramisu is quite possibly the best dessert on the planet!
